The Capital One Bank project offered many challenges from weather (25-40 mph sustained winds, rain and humidity) to an uneven slab, limiting the re-positioning of a heavier forming system. Even the design aspect of the columns themselves made standard forming methods simply not an option. The Column Cast was the only system the contractor and architect felt could accomplish the task.

At the end of the day, The project was a huge success. The system performed beyond the contractor's expectations, and we learned a great deal form all the challenges we faced. The architect, the Capital One construction manager and the contractor were all very impressed with the system and the results achieved, and for CFT and Caraustar, that's the bottom line.

    Some Key Points:
  • The forms were poured with a boom pump monolithically.
  • We are now able to get a second use out of more than 95% of the foam pieces.
  • The Alignment Collar Assembly was a real time saver and much safer to use given the job site conditions.

Testimonial:
"I think The Column Cast System is a great concept and a great idea. It gives us versatility that we haven't had before. Without it, we couldn't have done this job at all. I will and already have recommended it to others."
Terry Champagne (Superintendent and Project Manager of Bessette Development)
